Reflections on the Ethics of AI in Arts and Culture, with the Coalition de la diversité des expressions culturelles (CDEC-Canada)
A discussion group made up of professionals from different organizations, such as the Association nationale des éditeurs de livres, l’Association des professionnels de l’édition musicale, Association des réalisateurs et réalisatrices du Québec, la League of Canadian Poets, la Société des Auteurs de Radio, Télévision et Cinéma, l’ACTRA, Meta D and of course the CDEC, discussed issues of AI specific to the artistic field.
The discussion was moderated by Christophe Abrassart, professor at the School of Design at University of Montreal’s Faculty of Planning, co-founder of Lab Ville Prospective, and scientific co-director of the Responsible AI Declaration.
There was discussion about copyright and co-creation by AI, cultural diversity, receptions, algorithms of recommendation, algorithmic censorship and current art.
The Coalition works with its members to develop a cultural ethics of AI.
